Beatrice Alba Martinez was born and raised in Austin Texas. She has lived in Dallas since 1974. Bea attended San Antonio College, El Centro and North Lake College and obtained her Real Estate and Broker's License. She and Rene, her husband of 31 years had their sons attend Preston Hollow, Franklin, Hillcrest and Bishop Dunne schools. Her granddaughter attends William Lipscomb ES. Bea has shown her commitment to education by participating as a member of PTAs at all of her sons' schools and serving as a member of Executive Committee of City Council PTA for DISD.
Bea has also served our community as a member of:
- The DART Board of Directors appointed by City Council
- Tri-Ethnic Committee overseeing the 1980 Desegregation Court Order appointed by the court
- The Board of Directors of the Greater Dallas Hispanic Chamber of commerce
- The Governmental Affairs Committee of the Metro Tex Realtors Board
- The U.S. Selective Service Board
- The Dallas County Appraisal Review Board
- The Dallas County Grand Jury
- Helped to establish the Hispanic Realtors Association of Dallas
LULAC member and presently District 3 Director - St. Bernard's Catholic Church
In addition to her personal experience with DISD and her public service, Bea's career as a Real Estate Broker has made her aware of the importance of quality public schools in our community. She wants to take her personal commitment and skills to serve as Trustee for District 3 on the Dallas Independent School District Board.
